Meet Ben Watt, Canberra’s go‑to migration lawyer who’s been untangling visa red tape longer than most of us have. A James Cook University Bachelor of Laws graduate and QUT-trained legal eagle, he was admitted before the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2013 and topped his toolkit off with an ANU Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law and Practice.

Since July 2012, Ben has been elbows-deep in visa applications, and then from 2015 as a senior migration lawyer right here in Canberra. Meet Huong Nguyen – Canberra’s new migration law enthusiast with a PhD in Law from the University of Canberra (2023) and over a decade spent inspiring future lawyers back in Vietnam. Since 2023, Huong’s poured her curiosity and heart into Australian migration law – so much so that Ben not only helped her to get PR but also brought her on board at Watt Migration after recognising her talent, expertise and genuine passion.
